Introduction:
Hello everyone! My name is Nancy and I’d like to tell you a little about me, what my articles are about, and why I’ve chosen to put these into a blog. I’m new at this “blog thing” so bear with me as I try to amble through.
I’m originally from Mississippi. I met and married my husband (of 54 years now) in 1970. George was a “Yankee” native from Pennsylvania and this has been our home since the day we were married. We have two wonderful grown children and two absolutely wonderful grandchildren, which you will meet in some of my writings.
When I joined “Jenner Township Baptist Church, I began putting their church bulletins together and discovered that the back page seemed awfully lonely. So I decided to write 3-4 paragraph articles to fill in the blank space.
I was working for a construction company at the time, in the Engineering Department, with a gentleman whose wife had cancer. His wife, Christina, wrote Christian articles for our local paper, but during the last 3 or 4 months of her life she was unable to type out her articles. Her husband would bring her handwritten articles in to me and I’d type them up for her so she could send them into the paper for publication.
When she passed away, I contacted the Editor of the paper to get his permission to write a tribute article for her, and he agreed wholeheartedly. As we were talking I mentioned I wrote similar articles for our church bulletin. He asked me to send him a couple of them and asked if I would consider writing in her place. I agreed. My first article posted in the paper was on April 13, 2013 entitled “Full of Possibilities” (which is the first one I will post on this blog) and I’ve been writing weekly articles ever since.
Unfortunately, a couple years ago, our local paper was bought out by a different organization and slight changes began to appear. Unfortunately the new company eliminated my article, with a couple others, in January of this year. Their reasoning was that they needed more room for local news. It brought me to tears. It was a realization that God seemed to be slowly being edged out of many, if not all, publications.
But, I still felt that God wasn’t done with me yet. So…here I am and determined to continue to spread the gospel in ways that might seem a little unorthodox to some. As you read through my articles, you will see that I’m not always perfect in my punctuation or proper English. However, I don’t believe God disapproves of how we speak the gospel…as long as we speak it, and speak it with truth. I owe all that I write to the direction and “inspiration” of the Holy Spirit – hence the title “Inspirational Insights”.
As you read these articles, my prayer is that they will give you joy, understanding, motivation, and determination to stand tall for your belief and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Please feel free to contact me at the email at the bottom of each article with any constructive criticism, support, or just to agree/disagree.
May you all be safe, healthy, and continue to stay strong, positive, and faithful in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
